چکیده

In on-line signature verification, complexity of signature shape can influence the value of the optimal threshold for individual signatures. If writer-dependent threshold selection is not possible, some threshold equalization method based on the complexity of signatures is needed. In this paper, we propose three different threshold equalization methods based on (i) average number of samples, (ii) number of negative samples, and (iii) number of signinversions. Their effectiveness is confirmed in experiments using a multi-matcher DWT on-line signature verification system.

Use of the Shearlet Transform and Transfer Learning in Offline Handwritten Signature Verification and Recognition

Despite the growing growth of technology, handwritten signature has been selected as the first option between biometrics by users. In this paper, a new methodology for offline handwritten signature verification and recognition based on the Shearlet transform and transfer learning is proposed. Since, a large percentage of handwritten signatures are composed of curves and the performance of a sig...

On-line Verification of Signatures by Fitting a Generated Aggregation Operator to Empirical Data

This paper presents a new technique for on-line signature verification. In this technique, the test signature is compared to all of the signatures in the reference set, resulting in several distance values. Then, these distance values are combined into a single value, representing the dissimilarity of the test signature to the reference set. To combine the dissimilarity values, an aggregation f...

Off-line Chinese-based Signature Verification Using a Threshold Self-organizing Map

We propose an approach using a radial segmentation method and Kohonen’s SOM (self-organizing map) to resolve the off-line Chinese-based signature verification problem. The radial segmentation method extracts features of a signature in a consistent manner regardless pen thickness, size and rotation. The threshold SOM trains only on genuine signatures of an individual. Verification is achieved by...

An ECC-Based Mutual Authentication Scheme with One Time Signature (OTS) in Advanced Metering Infrastructure

Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is a key part of the smart grid; thus, one of the most important concerns is to offer a secure mutual authentication.  This study focuses on communication between a smart meter and a server on the utility side. Hence, a mutual authentication mechanism in AMI is presented based on the elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and one time signature (OTS) consists o...

Pattern spectrum as a local shape factor for off-line signature verification

A fundamental problem in the field of off-line signature verification is the lack of a pertinent shape representation or shape factor. The main difficulty in the definition of pertinent features lies in the local variability of the signature line which is closely related to the intrinsic characteristic of human beings. In this paper we proposed a new formalism for signature representation based...
